Cut from the haunch and shoulder, diced venison is a very lean cut with a delicate gamey flavour. Exceptionally tender, it will simply melt in your mouth when cooked slowly.

A rich venison casserole or stew, is  perfect for a chilly day. Be sure to stock up on heaps of crusty bread as your guests will be mopping up every last drop. 

All of our venison is wild which gives it a deeper gamey taste compared to farmed varieties. The taste even varies by the season as their diet changes from plants, fruit, nuts and acorns in the warmer months to grass and evergreen plants in winter. Seasonal, so you might not see it all the time on the site.

Minimum weight: 400g

All of our meat is cut fresh to order by our butchers.

Quick recipe ideas

Brown onions, mushrooms, bacon and garlic in butter. Add venison to sear, before adding a good glug of red wine, a splash of water and redcurrant jelly. Season generously and leave to stew slowly at 150C for at least 1.5 hours. Lovely!

The healthiest of meats?

As wild venison has not been artificially bred over the centuries to have higher fat content it is an incredibly healthy meat. Young deer have below 2% fat, less than skinless chicken. Also an excellent source of iron, zinc and vitamins. Perfect for any health kick
