Tomahawk Steak with Whipped Goats Cheese

Serves: 4

Prep time: 15 mins
Cook time: 20 mins
Total time: 35 mins

1 x Heartier Tomahawk steak

Olive Oil

Salt and Pepper

Juice of one lemon

Salt and Pepper

100g Fresh Goats Cheese

50ml milk

  1. Take the steak out of the fridge an hour or so before you plan on cooking it, give it a chance to come up to room temperature. Preheat oven to 200 degrees

  2. Place the goats cheese and milk into a large sided bowl, and using an electric whisk, mix until it starts to thicken. Have a taste and season if needed.

  3. Heat an ovenproof frying pan (if you don’t have one of these, place roasting tray in the oven at this step) large enough to fit the whole steak, give it a good 5 minutes over a medium-high heat. Add a glug of olive oil and leave for another minute. Season the steak with a generous amount of salt and pepper and place into the hot pan.

  4. Sear the steak until it has a dark brown colour on every surface and place into the oven for 15 minutes.

  5. Once cooked, take the steak out of the oven and let rest on a chopping board for 10 minutes.

  6. Cut the steak off the rib bone and slice against the grain, drizzle with the goats cheese sauce, squeeze some lemon juice over the whole lot and dig in!

Serve with roast carrots
