6 large Maris Piper potatoes
1 large swede (750g)
Sea salt & freshly ground pepper
30g unsalted butter 


1. Bring a large pan of water to the boil, adding a pinch of salt
2. Meanwhile, peel and dice the swede and potato 
3. Add the swede to the boiling water for 10 minutes
4. After 10 minutes, add the potatoes and cook for a further 15 minutes until soft
5. Drain and mash together well in a mixing bowl with the butter, salt and pepper
6. Serve immediately
